Maybe you should add in an advertising board

Make a board labeled "Advertisements" so people can show off their forums, YouTube channels, etc.

Most of my forum experience has been around proboards, So I'm unsure how to answer that. (lol)
I'll dig around, then decide what to do after.

A board dedicated for advertising is effective for those that want to explain in great detail. It's like the advertising board on Support Board.

This is something we have to discuss further...
But if phpbb forums dont have an affiliate bar, it is basically allowing them to promote their forum without returning the favor???

gah, font get it... They advertise on our site because they have a phpbb board or something, but they cant advertise our forum in return... if you see where im coming from.
another issue i have to think about is where to put it, I cant put it with the affiliate section in "The Lounge" category because that is the nerve center of the forum, everything vital to the forum is dedicated to that category. Only thing I can think off is adding another category or board, which I dont want to do because adding to many topics disperses the concentration of posts making the forum look lifeless and in return looses members (learned from experience).
I like the idea, but somehow trying to fit this idea into a forum where the main priority for the meantime is to attract regular members to make this forum "self sustaining", it needs more planning in my oppinion.
