Iv definatly noticed a massive performance drop in my iPhone 3G, Iv also noticed that battery meter seems to drop quite quickly and slow to recharge. And to add insult to injury.... Apple claim that network reception has been made more accurate... but since iv updated to iOS4, I loose reception every once in a while, which it never did before I updated. As for the differences... The background wallpapers are not available on 2G and 3G models (although i think iv seen it on jailbroken versions on the 3G) The Icons have been slightly improved and I like the new dock at the bottom. I took screenshots before and after I updated. Spot the Difference (OS3 <------> iOS4)

Yes. You will notice slowness on the 3G. That's why my dad downgraded back to 3.1.3. I have the newly developed iPod Touch 2G, and iOS4 runs fine. I jailbroke it using Jailbreakme, and it is still pretty awesome. Apple had to remove some features of iOS4 from some devices because they could not "handle" those features, (multi-tasking, wallpaper), which I think is bs. With Cydia, you can get Backgrounder for multi-tasking, and the winterboard theme "User Wallpaper for OS4" for wallpaper.
That is why, HAX FTW.

KatanA, Apple is to concerned about the battery life on the iPod and iPhone, they know the iPod and iPhone are fully capable, they just refuse to do so because of the battery. This is the same issue with flash on the Safari, it consumes to much energy.
Now, let's think for a second, and figure out how to fix this ...
Oh, that's right, let's add a FREAKIN OPTION TO DISABLE THESE THINGS! Make it the user's option to drain the power or not!
Apple just plain sucks, hackers have made better iPhone softwares than them, and they can't seem to realize that flash player plays a huge part on the internet. They want to convert everything to HTML 5. A stupid idea, of course.

Well in some way Its apple trying to save us from ourselves... Just like Rockstar North did on GTA 4 for the PC, by adding a program that stops us from ramping the graphics up to full wack if it thinks our computers cant handle it...
I think the main reason that apple decided not to have Flash on Safari was mostly down to a security issue, that and the fact that flash is starting to die out because of its resource hunger that eats your cpu, ram and battery on both iPhone and PC.
But even though apple took out certain features to save the battery life of the 2G and 3G models, pretty much didnt work... 2G and 3G users are complaining about performance drops and reduced battery times.... so it looks like all 2G + 3G users will all be carrying round external batteries for the iphone from now on....
